Function:
Installed after the diesel particulate filter (DPF), this sensor continuously measures soot concentration in the exhaust stream. The ECU uses this signal to:

• monitor DPF loading and regeneration efficiency
• detect soot breakthrough or abnormal emissions
• optimize regeneration cycles
• maintain Euro 6d emissions compliance and diagnostics accuracy

This is a PM2.1 particulate matter sensor, not a NOx or pressure sensor. It directly measures soot concentration downstream of the DPF and is essential for modern JLR diesel emission control systems.
