This sensor is used in diesel particulate matter monitoring systems, where it measures soot concentration downstream of the diesel particulate filter (DPF). The ECU uses this signal to manage regeneration cycles, evaluate filter efficiency, and detect abnormal particulate loading or sensor degradation in real time.

This is a DPF particulate matter (PM) sensor, not a NOx or pressure sensor.
It directly measures soot concentration after the DPF and is critical for regeneration control, emissions monitoring, and diagnostic fault detection.
