⚙️ Function

This is a post-DPF particulate matter (soot) sensor installed downstream of the diesel particulate filter. It directly measures soot concentration in the exhaust and sends real-time data to the ECU/PCM.

It is used to:

• Monitor DPF filtration efficiency
• Control and optimize regeneration cycles
• Reduce unnecessary regens and fuel consumption
• Detect DPF blockage or sensor degradation
• Improve emissions compliance in real time

This sensor is often confused with NOx or pressure sensors, but it is specifically a resistive soot measurement sensor that works after the DPF, not before it.
